Glenn's 1974 Beetle Restoration
Rear Brakes
Time to replace rear brakes. As you can see the rear wheel cylinders were leaking and the shoes were slipping. I decided to replace everything, powder painted German backing plates, adjusters, wheel cylinders, hardware and Ate drums. I also replace the old rubber hoses with stainless braided hose. The stub axle bearings were cleaned, inspected and repacked with grease. Finally the entire system was purged of the old fluid and refilled with fresh DOT 4
